Medicaid and SCHIP Eligibility
Income eligibility levels, enrollment and renewal practices for children on Medicaid and SCHIP have been updated to 2005 using data from a recent Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured (KCMU) 50-state survey. Income requirements and enrollment practices for parents and pregnant women have also been updated and are available by state.

DataBank is one of the most extensive and up-to-date resources for indicators on child health, education and skills, social and emotional development and family income, assets, work, and demographics.
Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health
This Web site was recently re-tooled to enhance access to and use of data from the 2001 National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs and the 2003 National Survey of Children's Health.
NEW HEALTHY PLACES WEB PAGE LAUNCHED
The Healthy Places Web page is designed to assist states in their planning efforts to balance an area's economic, community, environmental, and health needs. The Web page content, developed as part of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials' Web site, encompasses a variety of public health policy areas, including injury prevention, environmental health, physical activity, and children's health. The Web page contains state and federal resources, links to national initiatives, publications, and presentations. Also included are links to related legislative databases and partner organizations. MCH LIBRARY LAUNCHES REDESIGNED WEB SITE
The MCH Library has launched a redesigned Web site that provides accurate, reliable, and timely information and resources for the maternal and child health (MCH) community. The Web site contains the MCH Alert weekly e-newsletter, resource guides, full text publications, databases, and links to quality MCH Web sites. A search box, an A-Z topic index, and frequently asked questions are featured on the Web site home page. The home page also includes links to the MCH thesaurus, final reports produced by Maternal and Child Health Bureau grantees, an index to non-English-language materials and resources, and resources for families. The Healthy People 2010 Web page provides information related to MCH goals and objectives and library products related to leading health indicators. The Web site, intended for use by health professionals, policymakers, family advocates, community service professionals, MCH/public health faculty and students, and families, is available at http://www.mchlibrary.info.
NEW EDITION OF INFANT MORTALITY KNOWLEDGE PATH AVAILABLE
The new edition of Knowledge Path: Infant Mortality is an electronic guide to recent, high-quality resources that analyze data, describe public health campaigns and other prevention programs, and report on research aimed at identifying causes and promising intervention strategies. Produced by the MCH Library, the knowledge path includes information on (and links to) Web sites, electronic publications, databases, and online discussion groups. It is intended for use by health professionals and others who are interested in obtaining timely information on this topic. A separate section contains links to resources for families. Medical Malpractice
Updated data from the National Practitioner Data Bank on paid medical malpractice claims have been updated to 2005. The total number of paid medical malpractice claims and the number of paid claims per 1,000 physicians are available by state and region. The total amount paid in medical malpractice claims and the average claim payment amount are also available for all states and the nation. Click here.
