WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Cachito Pacifiers

Units: About 1,000

Importer: Ideal Distributors Inc., of Chicago, Ill.

Hazard: The nipples can detach from the base, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: No injuries or incidents have been reported.

Description: The recalled pacifiers are blue, white, yellow or pink plastic with a yellow nipple and a circular or clove-shaped handle. The nipples are filled with honey or a sugary substance. The pacifiers measure about 3-inches long and 1 1/2-inches wide.

Sold at: Various independent Mexican supermarkets and drug stores in the Chicago, Ill. area from July 2005 through September 2005 for about $1.

Manufactured In: Mexico

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from young children and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Bobby Jack(tm) pajama set

Units: About 18,800 sets

Importer: J & F Design, Inc., of Bell, Calif.

Hazard: These pajamas sets fail to meet the federal mandatory standard for flammability of children's sleepwear under the Flammable Fabrics Act. This poses a risk of burn injuries to children.

Incidents/Injuries: No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled pajama sets include a tank top and a pair of shorts. Made of a polyester and cotton blend, the pajamas were sold in four colors: green, fuchsia, light blue and light pink in sizes extra small through extra large. The pajama tops have a large, rubber decal of one or more monkeys on the front, and the bottoms have a monkey print on them. A label on the inside of the garment reads, "Bobby by BobbyJack."

Sold at: J.C. Penney stores nationwide from April 2005 through June 2005 for about $15.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop wearing these pajama sets and return them to any J.C. Penney store for a full refund.

CPSC, Kids II Inc. Announce Recall of Doorway Baby Jumpers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Bounce Bounce Baby! Door Jumpers

Units: About 14,000

Distributor: Kids II Inc., of Alpharetta, Ga.

Hazard: The plastic clamp that attaches the jumper seat to a door frame can break, which can cause the unit and child to fall to the floor. This poses an injury hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Kids II has received nine reports of the clamp breaking with three reports of injuries, including a bruised forehead, chin and foot.

Description: The Bounce Bounce Baby! Door Jumper has model number 6753 written on a white warning label on the seat. The jumper has a blue canvas seat with a sun, star and bee design print, blue straps, and a blue plastic clamp that attaches to an interior door frame. The name "Kids II" is printed on the plastic housing that contains the clamp.
Model 67531 Door Jumpers that have a metal clamp are not included in this recall.

Sold at: Discount department and juvenile specialty stores nationwide from January 2005 through November 2005 for about $20.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact Kids II for information on receiving a free replacement.

CPSC, Maxim Enterprise Inc. Announces Recall of Mini Learning Cube Toy Sold at Target

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Little Tree Mini Learning Cube

Units: About 12,000

Manufacturer/Importer: Maxim Enterprise Inc. of Lakeville, Mass.

Importer/Distributor: Target of Minneapolis, Minn.

Hazard: Small wooden pegs in the top corners of the toy can come loose posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Target has received three reports of incidents including two reports of children mouthing pieces of the learning cube.
In one incident, an 18-month old girl swallowed a piece of the recalled learning cube after one side came loose. The piece became stuck and she had to have it removed in a hospital emergency room. In a second incident, a child started choking when she put two of the toy's wooden pegs in her mouth. In the third incident, a consumer reported the wooden pegs popped out of the learning cube. No injuries were reported in the third incident

Description: The recalled learning cube is an 8-inch square wooden box with a different activity on each side, including an abacus, blocks with apples and bananas, shapes that can be moved in a zigzag cutout, and a blackboard. The wooden cover has spiral bead maze with wooden beads that slide up, down and around.

Sold at: Target stores nationwide from June 2005 through November 2005 for about $15.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled learning cube toy away from young children and return it to Target for a $15 giftcard plus applicable state tax.

CPSC, Advantage Publishers Group Announce Recall of Children's Books

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Children's Books

Units: About 41,000

Manufacturer: Advantage Publishers Group, of San Diego, Calif.

Hazard: If the clear plastic container is removed from the book's back cover or breaks, young children can access the beads in it. This poses a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Advantage Publishers Group has received one report of a child accessing beads in the books' clear plastic containers. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled children's activity books are multi-colored with holes in the pages to touch a variety of fabrics and to push a squeaker toy, flaps to lift, and a clear plastic container with beads. The "Amazing Baby Look and Play" activity book has a yellow star on the cover. The "Amazing Baby Touch and Play" book has a brown bear on the cover. The activity books measure about 11-inches by 11-inches, and are for children ages 12 months to
24 months. The recalled "Rattle, Rattle" board book has a magenta car on the cover. The board book measures about 5 1/2-inches by 5 ½-inches, and is intended for children ages 6 months to 18 months.

Sold at: National book chains, discount department stores, wholesalers and distributors, and membership warehouse clubs nationwide from May 2003 through November 2005 for about $16 for the activity books and about $6 for the board book.

Manufactured in: Thailand

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take these recalled activity and board books away from young children and contact the company for a replacement book

CPSC, Simplicity Inc. Announce Recall of Graco Branded Aspen Cribs for Suffocation Risk

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Aspen 3 in 1 Cribs, sold under the Graco Trademark

Units: About 104,000

Manufacturer: Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa.

Hazard: The screws on the wooden mattress support can come loose allowing a portion of the mattress to fall, posing a suffocation hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Simplicity Inc. has received 14 reports of the mattress support coming loose, including eight reports of entrapment.
Five injuries have been reported including scratches and bruises to the face and head, a strained neck and a report of a child turning blue.

Description: The recalled cribs are made of wood and have a wooden mattress support. Only cribs with wooden mattress supports and with model number 8740KCW SC and serial number 2803 SC to 1605 are included in this recall. The model and serial number are printed on the envelope attached to the mattress support.

Sold at: Department stores, and children's product stores from August
2003 through May 2005 for about $130.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should call Simplicity Inc. to receive a retrofit kit.
