CPSC, Delta Enterprise Corp. Announce Recall of Certain Cribs Sold at Toys R Us Stores

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Lov's "Europa" Natural Color Cribs

Units: About 335

Manufacturer: Delta Enterprise Corp., of New York, N.Y.

Hazard: The cribs paint contains high levels of lead. Lead poisoning in children is associated with behavioral problems, learning disabilities, hearing problems and growth retardation.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The cribs are made of wood and are natural color. Only cribs that are labeled Lov's Europa with "Style # 4827-2 M.F.G. No.: W 24088 Date:
22 JUN 2004" are included in the recall. The brand, style and date code are printed on a label attached to the mattress support platform.
Sold: Exclusively at Toys R Us nationwide from July 2004 through August 2005 for about $200.

Manufactured In: Indonesia

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled crib immediately and return to retailer where purchased for a credit or refund.

CPSC, Sycamore Kids Inc. Expands Recall of Mountain Buggy Jogging Strollers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Mountain Buggy Urban Single and Urban Double, Breeze Strollers

Units: About 3,200

Distributor: Sycamore Kids Inc., of Fort Collins, Colo.

Note: This expansion of the Sycamore Kids Inc. jogging strollers recall announced July 14, 2005 includes additional models.

Hazard: The handlebar can crack or break causing the handlebar to detach while in use, posing a risk of injury to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: Sycamore Kids has received 22 reports of handlebar either cracking or breaking when the stroller was pulled up or taken down stairs. This resulted in two reports of bruises and scrapes.

Description: The recalled strollers have a metal frame and a cloth seat with a sun canopy. The strollers were sold in a variety of colors including, navy, red, black, silver and orange. A metal plate above the footrest shows the Mountain Buggy logo with "Mountain Buggy," "Urban,"
or "Breeze" written underneath on the metal plate. The recalled Mountain Buggy Urban Single strollers have item number U1204-002, and serial numbers between 000000 and 012893. The recalled Mountain Buggy Urban Double strollers have item number U2204-002, and serial numbers between 000000 and 006957. The recalled Mountain Buggy Breeze strollers have item number B1204-002, and serial numbers between 000000 and 000191. The serial number and model number are on the back of the metal plate. All recalled buggies have a grey handlebar button.

Sold at: Juvenile furniture retailers and baby product stores and Web retailers nationwide from December 2004 through July 2005 for between $400 and $640.

Manufactured In: New Zealand

Remedy: Contact Sycamore Kids to find an authorized repair center to receive a free replacement handlebar ratchet.
