Maternal and child health programs and services include skilled nursing assessments and education to pregnant women, mothers, infants, and children through home visits. Coordination of services are based on a plan of care developed by a team of qualified public health professionals and under the orders of a licensed physician. Other programs and services include lead poisoning prevention, childhood wellness, immunization clinics, STD clinics, and a pediatric dental clinic. Home visiting nursing services focusing on maternal/child health, medical social work, immunizations, health education and promotion, STD screening and treatment.

The Community Health Worker Program is a full outreach and home visiting program of the Albany County Department of Health that offers and provides case management services to pregnant women, infants, and children who are in need of pre-natal care and primary preventative health care. Community Health Workers can assist women in obtaining: Health Education, Insurance, Prenatal/Medical care, Family Planning, Immunizations, Parenting Skills, Advocacy, (support), HIV/AIDS Education and Testing, WIC. The overall goal of the program is to empower, motivate, support, and advocate for people who are in need of assistance in obtaining the services they need. They desire and work towards the goal of having all women experience health birth outcomes.
