Ruby's Diner Inc. Recalls Giveaway Yo-Yo Toy for Choking Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Light-Up Yo-Yo Toy
Units: About 200,000
Distributor: The Ruby Restaurant Group, doing business as Ruby's Diner Inc., and Ruby's Franchise Systems Inc., of Newport Beach, Calif.
Hazard: The yo-yo can separate and expose small parts. This presents a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: CPSC and The Ruby Restaurant Group have received one report of the yo-yo separating. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled yo-yo toys are clear plastic with red, blue or green tinted sides and light up while in motion. The toys are about 2 inches in diameter and have "Ruby's Diner" printed on the each side.
Distributed at: Ruby's Diner restaurants in Pennsylvania, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Colorado and California from February 2006 through March 2006 included with the purchase of a kid's meal.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should take the yo-yo toy from children immediately and return it to the nearest Ruby's Diner for a free replacement toy.

H&M Announces Recall of Girl's Water Shoes for Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: H&M Girl's Water Shoes
Units: About 1,900
Manufacturer: H&M USA, of New York, N.Y.
Hazard: Though these shoes are marketed for use around water for traction, they become extremely slippery when wet. This poses a risk of slipping and falling on smooth, hard surfaces such as tile.
Incidents/Injuries: No reports of injuries.
Description: These are pink and blue shoes with a multi-colored trim. The shoes have a pink rubber sole with silver glitter incased within it. A butterfly appliqué is attached to the top and flower emblems are on the back and sides. A label inside the shoes reads "364430" and "MADE IN CHINA."
Sold at: H&M stores in the Northeast U.S. and California from March 2005 through May 2006 for about $8.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these shoes and immediately return them to any H&M store for a full refund.

Nine West Footwear Corporation Recalls Sandals for Laceration Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Sam & Libby Girl's Thong Sandals
Units: About 6,700 pairs
Distributors: Nine West Footwear Corp. of White Plains, N.Y.
Hazard: The sandals' metal tacks, which help to hold down the sides of the strap to the sole, can detach or be pulled out, posing a laceration hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: No incident or injuries reported.
Description and Models: The recalled models are the Fish, Starfish and Angelfish. The model can be identified by the decoration attached to the sandals' straps; a fish, a starfish or an angelfish. The sandals' straps are bright pink (Starfish) or bright turquoise (Fish and Angelfish). The top of the sole looks like wood and the bottom is pink (Starfish) or turquoise (Fish and Angelfish). The top of the sole has a pink label with the words "Sam and Libby" written in silver. The sandals were sold in little girls' size 11 through girls' size 5.
Sold: Sandals were sold at Stride Rite, Brothers, Century 21, and Marshalls stores nationwide from March 2006 through April 2006 for about
$12 to $20.

Remedy: Consumers should stop wearing these sandals immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

Name of Product: Curious Buddies Children's Books
Units: About 9,000
Manufacturer: Simon & Schuster Inc., of New York, N.Y.
Hazard: The felt ears and limbs on the pop-up characters can detach or come apart when pulled, which may pose a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: Simon & Schuster has received reports of two 6-month-old infants who detached felt from the pop-up parts of the book.
One child was able to mouth the torn material. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves Curious Buddies cloth books titled "Hello, Curious Buddies!" Pictured on the cover of the books are the Curious Buddies' characters. Inside the book are two plush pop-up toy characters.
Sold at: Bookstores, discount department stores and other retailers nationwide from October 2005 through May 2006 for about $10.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately clip off the felt ears and limbs of the pop-up characters and place them out of a child's reach. Simon and Schuster will provide consumers with information on how to return the felt pieces or the copyright tag from the book to receive a free replacement book.

Adjmi Apparel Group Recalls Reebok Children's Windsuits for Choking Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Reebok Children's Windsuit
Units: About 55,000
Manufacturer: Adjmi Apparel Group, of New York, N.Y. (Adjmi is an authorized licensee of children's apparel products of Reebok International Ltd., of Canton, Mass.)
Hazard: The Reebok logo appliqué on the clear rubber zipper pull on the jacket can detach, posing a choking or aspiration hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: Reebok has received one report of a child that began to choke from a detached Reebok logo appliqué. No injuries have been reported.
Description and Models: The recalled Reebok children's windsuits are full-zip boys polyester jacket and pants sets with a cotton lining and the name "Reebok" and/or Reebok's Vector logo embroidered on the chest of the jacket. The suits were sold in eight different color combinations: orange/navy, light blue/royal blue, red/navy, yellow/gunmetal, yellow/navy, blue/navy, green/navy and red/black.
Sold Exclusively At: Mervyns and Toys "R" Us/Babies "R" Us nationwide from December 2005 through May 2006. The suits were priced by size including: newborn/infant about $18, toddler between $22 and $28 and ages 4 to 7 about $24.
Manufactured In: Bangladesh
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled product away from young children. Consumers have a choice of either (1) returning the recalled suit in exchange for receiving a free replacement suit or (2) cutting off and discarding the clear rubber zipper pull and continuing to use the original suit.

Electronic Toy Guitars Recalled, Small Parts Pose Choking Hazard

Name of Product: Toy Guitars
Units: About 500
Importer: Sino Trading Group, LLC, of Houston, Texas
Hazard: The toy guitar can break into small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description and Models: The recalled plastic toy guitar has a white face and red back with a green shoulder strap. There are multi-colored animal-face buttons on the front of the guitar including a chicken, a duck, a dog, a pig and a lamb. A label on the front of the guitar reads, "GUITAR SERIES JC856." "MADE IN CHINA" is embossed on the front of the battery cover on the back of the guitar. Packaging on the box reads in part, "Jie Cheng" and "NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS."
Sold at: Flea markets nationwide throughout January 2006 for about $1.50.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the toy and return it to the vendor where purchased for a full refund.
